JUDICIAL WARRANT V.

ADMINISTRATIVE WARRANT

A judicial warrant is a court order, signed by a judge, authorizing law enforcement to search or seize property and enter private areas. An administrative warrant is issued internally by a government agency (like ICE or DHS) without judicial oversight, generally allowing for arrests but not authorizing entry into a private residence without consent.

Know Your Rights:
If law enforcement officers (such as ICE) knock on the door, you can ask them to pass a warrant under the door or hold it up to a window. If the document is an administrative warrant (often titled "Warrant of Removal/Deportation" or form I-200/I-203), you do not have to open the door.
